Baby, Dance With Me
(Songs From a Poorly-Soundproofed Room - 2004)
THE MANY SIDES OF ROMANCE: The upbeat, dancing side
This was the first song I wrote on guitar. It was inspired by listening to a lot of '50s rock, especially Buddy Holly. I'm pretty sure that's why I put a Buddy Holly cover as the next song on that CD.
* * *
Baby baby, come and dance with me
Take a chance with me
Come on and dance with me
Baby baby, come and dance with me
Baby baby, let me hold you tight
All through the night
Long as the music's right
Baby baby, come and dance with me
Baby baby, come and dance with me
Baby baby, put my arm around
We're dancin' to the sound
It lifts us off the ground
Baby baby, come and dance with me
Baby baby, now we're dancing close
We're nearly nose to nose
Oh yeah, that's really close
Baby baby, come and dance with me
Baby baby, come and dance with me
Dance
Dance with me
Dance
Dance with me
Baby baby, now the clock stikes one
And the music's done
And we've had our fun
Nevermind, stay and dance with me
Baby baby, now they've stopped the show
But I think you know
I'll never let you go
Come on, baby, stay and dance with me
Baby baby, stay and dance with me
[repeat first verse]
